SCS Railways – a joint venture between Skanska, Costain and STRABAG – is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels, and we’re looking for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join our Euston Delivery Unit
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes, working within a high-performing, collaborative team that’s redefining how major projects are delivered.
Your role:
You’ll provide accurate, value-generating commercial input across a complex scope of works, ensuring all activities align with contract requirements and JV policies. Whether working independently or as part of a wider team, you’ll play a key role in cost control, forecasting, contract management, and stakeholder engagement.
Flexible working: This role will be site-based in our offices in Euston for a minimum of 3-4 days per week.
Role responsibility
- Preparation or assessment of applications, valuations, cost/value reconciliation.
- Cost control and forecasting. Prepare and provide input to monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow and budget.
- Preparation and agreement of applications for payment or the assessment & preparation of payment certificates.
- Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimise solution. Monitor and regularly review with the project team. Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
- Contract Management, including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control and relevant software applications.
- Managing cost/value reconciliation and monthly reporting.
- Supporting procurement, risk management, and supply chain contract administration.
- Providing contractual advice and maintaining accurate records.
- Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
The ideal candidate
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Experience in NEC contracts and major infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Confidence in drafting contractual correspondence and managing documentation.
- RICS/CICES-accredited degree (or working towards one).

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
